Weddings & Receptions:
The number of guests and how many of those are children? Children do not eat as much as some adults and can not
drink adult beverages....Only your total "adult" guest are allowed to visit the bar station... All of your guest will be
dinning. Children under 5 however are not counted in your catering total.
The menu you choose...Your choice of food will affect the price of the meal. For example...
Cocktail parties with hors d'oeuvres-only usually cost more than a buffet dinner. WHY?
Hors d'oeuvres require more time to prepare and when you are standing around socializing rather than sitting you eat or
snack more. Therefore you need more....Catering may take up to 50% of your budget
We arrange for rental of tents, heaters, dinnerware, cutlery, glasses, linens, tables and chairs. These cost for these
rentals add up quickly. Rentals may be between 40 - 50% of your event expense. Will you need to rent tables and
chairs? Just a note...tall tables without chairs add a sophisticate atmosphere.
Also "High end plastic ware" is not an option, it's a requirement if your event is actually on the beach, there is a no glass
allowed on the beach, this is a NC state law.
The type of event and type of service... You can have a Buffet or a Sit Down Dinner. You can create a Cocktail Party or
a Beach Picnic. Visions Concierge can stay and manage your event, set-up, serve and clean-up, or we can arrange all
the details the timeline and you can take care of the rest. The type of service you choose will depend on your budget.
The time of day? We allow up to 3 Events per day. Our last event will start 1 hour before sunset.
If you have booked a wedding only with us. That is what we are responsible for "The Wedding Only", no coordination or
planning of other events. If you have booked both your wedding and reception through us then we will coordinate and
manage both of these events.

they also have the flexibility to personalize wedding ceremonies.

not have a congregation therefore, they do not have a salary. They also do not have the built-in clientele of the
church membership. So, they have to advertise and promote their services just as a florist, a caterer any other
business. A professional wedding officiant does not rely on donations nor do they pass an offering plate.

We recommend that you keep in mind when planning your outdoor event that...
You are at the beach. It is a public venue. There will be people watching and extremely curious about such things. A
good beach wedding service will do all that they can to keep the public at bay, but there will be onlookers! Also, flat
shoes or rather your own bare feet, is the best footwear for a beach wedding. Walking in the sand in high heels is
not that easy. Save the beautiful shoes for later at the reception! A classy swept up hairstyle for the bride is a
must, unless you want to fight with your hair when it comes time to take pictures.
Try to schedule your wedding in the morning or in the late afternoon during the spring and summer months. The
heat is too overwhelming and the beaches will be crowded with sunbathers during the middle of the day. Also, If
there is chance of rain, you might want to think about a back-up plan before hand.
Resist the urge to feed the seagulls! Including throwing birdseed! The seagulls can be very aggressive and they
have no manners! If you must have a photo with them flying all about you, then try to make it right before you
leave the wedding. That way, if something should happen, you won't have evidence of it in all of your pictures.
We can not control Mother Nature, nor guarantee that she will not ruin your beautiful wedding day.
We can not guarantee that it will not rain or blow Gail force winds that of course will take down anything in it's path
the day of your wedding or reception.
Nor can we command the skies to stay sunny or say "Let there be clear skies and starry nights" for your wedding or
reception.
We can not control the town officials and whether or not they decide to close the bridge or the island in case a
hurricane is headed to our coast line. They are not concerned that it is your wedding day...They are concerned for
public saftey...yours and mine.
We can however provide our office, that will accommodate from 20 to 30 people in case of rain. Of course our office
will not be decorated as your original plan however it will shelter you from the rain.
We can provide an alternate date for your wedding and reception based on schedule and availability. In this case
we can not refund any deposits, retainer fees or other payments because vendors such as caters, rental
companies, florist and others will have ordered your wedding supplies.
We will however carry those payments over to the new date and time scheduled.

The Wedding Ring
The reason that wedding rings are circular is simply because circles represent eternity, which means that their is no end or
beginning. This is simply to represent your love for each other.
Groomsmen
Long ago, the groom had to capture his bride, this usually resulted in the groom having to fend off her family.
Because of this he would need some help, and that's home the groomsmen came to be.
Which Side of the Altar?
It is traditional that when the bride and groom stand together at the Altar that the groom stands on the right side of the
bride. This is because, many many years ago, the groom would have held his bride with his left hand, and his sword with
his right.
Over the Threshold
In Roman time it would have been considered bad luck if the bride stumbled when she entered her new home for the first
time, and so as a result the tradition is that the groom carries the bride over the threshold.
Decorating the Getaway Car
It was considered that having a noisy car for leaving the reception would frighten any evil spirits away, and so as a result
the cars were decorated, and the tradition of having cans tied to the back of the care to fend off evil spirits was started.
The Honeymoon
Again to the days of having to capture your bride. After the man had captured his bride, he would then take his bride
away and only return once everyone was ready to acknowledge their union.
